Location

“Ditterly” is located at Canyonleigh in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales.  Approximately halfway (2 hours drive) between Sydney, Australia’s most populous city and the national capital Canberra.  The area is predominantly “lifestyle” blocks with numerous vineyards, lavender farms, alpaca studs, trufferies and other niche agricultural interests.  The total landholding is a little over 700 hectares (1700 acres).

The property lies within the catchment area that supplies the drinking water for Sydney and is surrounded on three sides by the Wollondilly River.  This extensive riparian area of over 8 kilometres is an environmentally sensitive area.  The river areas are still heavily wooded with remnant timber stands on the eastern boundary of the property.  The balance of the property was cleared for grazing by Hannibal Macarthur using convict labour in the early 1800’s.
