Native Plant Regeneration

Over 27,000 indigenous trees, shrubs, and grasses have been planted to complement the existing stands of stringy bark, cabbage gum, argyle apple, manna gum, grey gum, black she-oak, black wattle, silver wattle, and numerous other native species. The river itself has good  stands of intact riparian vegetation including river she-oak, a program to remove noxious and introduced weeds from the riverbank is continuing. The Ditterly river frontage is said to be one of the best examples of how the river looked prior to colonial settlement.

Extensive groundworks have been completed in the last three years with concrete and rock flumes being installed at numerous points to improve the ground cover and assist with environmental and habitat rejuvenation.
